The device projecting the keyboard comes in different sizes but they are normally the size of a small mobile phone, 90 x 34 x 24 mm. They have the advantage that users can write texts or e-mails easier and faster, just as with a usual keyboard and that when it is turned off it disappears completely.
The projection keyboard may be used on PDA’s, MAC compatible laptops, Tablet PCs, industrial environments, mobile phones, clean rooms, test equipment or in sterile and medical environments.
The market provides all types of accessories for virtual keyboards. One can get a portable charger for reasonable costs and extra batteries. There are also converter cables available for those whose devices are not equipped with serial ports. The Bluetooth Dongle is a new technology that allows users to connect their virtual keyboards with other devices such as PC’s or mobile phones. Those who travel around the world may purchase an international adapter plugs set to make sure they may use their keyboard in any country in the world.
The prices of the projection keyboards vary depending on the type of technology used, if there are accessories included and by manufacturer. The costs range from a little over $100 and can reach $200 or even more.
